Most people divide their digital lives into categories, seeing their web browsing and email correspondence as two totally separate things. But in the digital age today, these platforms are intertwined. An inbox is not a separate vault; it is accessed, operated, and authenticated through a web browser.

The best defenses in the inbox will not stand a chance against a malicious actor that has been given a back door through a user’s risky behavior on the Internet.

Industry experts often warn that relying on existing cloud email protection leaves users highly vulnerable to targeted phishing networks and credential-stealing malware.

If a malicious browser extension steals an active session token, the attacker can completely bypass two-factor authentication. This means that regular cloud defenses are ineffective against the intrusion, and why securing the browser is as important as securing the account.
